TECHNICAL SERVICE

SEO analytics. Without this, SEO is measured blind.

Most SEO projects are measured blind. GA4 comes badly configured by default, SEO conversions don't get separated from branded traffic, and the client receives reports that don't help them decide. We configure GA4 and Search Console with SEO criteria, build dashboards in Looker Studio or Power BI, and clean up attribution to show what SEO is actually contributing.

  • GA4 + GSC Configured with SEO criteria
  • 100% Organic attribution sorted
  • Looker / Power BI Custom dashboards
THE PROBLEM

Almost nobody measures SEO well. And what isn't measured well isn't managed well.

Nobody disputes that SEO is measured. The problem is that almost nobody measures it well. GA4 ships with default events that mean nothing for SEO, conversions fire two or three times per scroll, and organic branded traffic gets mixed with non-branded as if they were the same thing. Search Console gets a quick glance without segmenting by intent or cross-referencing with real conversions. The result: the client doesn't know if SEO is working or where to concentrate effort. And the agency can't demonstrate the actual impact of what it's doing.

BENEFITS

What you get from SEO analytics done right

  • Know which keywords actually move the business
  • Clean attribution between branded, non-branded, paid and SEO
  • Dashboards the client understands without an analyst nearby
THE SERVICE

What we cover in the SEO analytics of a project

We work the 6 pieces that make up SEO-applied analytics. We do all of them or only the ones missing, depending on the state of the client's account.

GA4 and Search Console audit

We review what's being measured, which events are duplicated or misfiring, where the attribution gaps are, and whether the account has filters or configurations that are distorting the data.

Event and SEO conversion configuration

We reconfigure GA4 with clean events and SEO conversions aligned with the business. We separate branded and non-branded clicks, attribute organic traffic correctly, and prepare CRM integration when needed.

Keyword, ranking and organic traffic dashboards

We build a custom dashboard in Looker Studio or Power BI, connected to GA4 and Search Console. Metrics that matter to the client: keywords climbing, pages converting, evolution by intent and by landing.

Organic vs paid vs branded attribution

An attribution model that honestly differentiates what SEO contributes versus paid and branded traffic. Without over-correlating or inflating organic attribution to make it look better than it is.

Monthly SEO reporting

Monthly report based on the dashboard, with analysis of evolution and prioritised recommendations. Designed for the client to understand and act on, without an analyst sitting next to them.

Training for the client's team

Training session for the client's team to learn how to read and maintain the dashboard when the SEO project shifts phase or hands over.

THE SEOCOM METHOD

How we work the SEO analytics of a project

SEO-applied analytics is built in 4 phases. The first two are configuration and ship as a closed project. The last two are recurring while the SEO engagement is active.

  1. 01

    Initial audit

We review what's set up, what's measured well and what isn't, and where the gaps in current attribution are.

  2. 02

    Clean configuration

We reconfigure GA4 with SEO-relevant events, connect GSC to BigQuery when volume justifies it, and clean up the data layer.

  3. 03

    Custom dashboard

We build the dashboard in Looker Studio or Power BI connected to GA4 and GSC. Scoped to actionable SEO metrics, not generic.

  4. 04

    Reporting and maintenance

Monthly reporting with analysis. Dashboard adjustments as gaps surface. Final training for the client's team.

Without measuring well, SEO isn't managed well. Start with analytics.

FAQS

Frequently asked questions about this service

  • At SEOCOM we only configure GA4 and Search Console to measure SEO results. We don't do general business analytics, complex multichannel attribution, generalist BI, CRO or UX. That's covered by ROIAnalytics, the SEOCOM group's sister brand focused on digital analytics. When a client needs both, the two brands coordinate, but each one leads in its discipline.

  • No. If the account isn't configured, we set it up from scratch. If it's configured but badly (which is the most common case), we reconfigure it. What we do need is access to the account and Search Console, and someone on the client side authorised to approve measurement changes.

  • No. Universal Analytics stopped collecting data in July 2024 and historical data became inaccessible later. If you only have UA, migrating to GA4 is the first step of the service.

  • Not always. For sites with low or medium traffic, native GA4 is enough. BigQuery is justified when event volume exceeds what GA4 can aggregate without sampling, when the client wants to retain raw data beyond GA4's retention window, or when cross-referencing with CRM or ERP is needed. We propose it only when it adds real value.

  • Looker Studio by default. It's free, connects natively with GA4 and GSC, and is enough for most SEO projects. We use Power BI when the client already has it as a corporate standard or wants SEO analytics integrated into a wider dashboard.

  • Both options exist. The audit and configuration ship as a closed project. The monthly reporting and dashboard adjustments are recurring while the SEO engagement is active. Some clients only contract the one-shot piece because they already have an in-house analyst; others keep the full package.

  • Only when client-side cookies or events are being blocked by Safari ITP, ad blockers or strict consent mode, and the client is losing important conversion signals. When that's the case, we work alongside ROIAnalytics, which has Tag Gateway as a specific product for it.

  • Between 3 and 6 weeks depending on the starting state. If GA4 isn't set up and Universal Analytics has to be migrated, closer to 6. If existing configuration just needs adjusting and the dashboard built, 3 weeks. Monthly reporting kicks in the month after configuration closes.
